Three Months in South Korea: Busan Streets, Seoul Cafés, and the Joy of Spacious Travel

Seoul, South Korea

Seoul, South Korea

We nestled into life very easily and very quickly in South Korea. We lived in a neighbourhood called Insa-Dong. We have a curated slow videos on our YoutTube channel if you are interested - https://www.youtube.com/@Santai_life

We loved nothing more than slowly moving around the back streets of Seoul and immersing ourselves in the local culture and way of life. Of course you can find your groove in any city. If you are after the city vibes and energetic atmosphere, well Seoul certainly captures that for you.
If you are like us, we tend to find the quiter way of life in cities. Seoul catered for us; it allowed us to live a cool relaxed lifestyle with city vibes.

We came to Seoul in Autumn and the colours in the mountains were amazing. The bright tapetry of colour immersing from the barron trees was something to behold. If you get the chance, resist the urge to chase the cherry blossoms. Instead, enjoy the autumn season as the trees change colour. It is something very beautiful.

Busan, South Korea

We didn’t just stop our adventures in Seoul, we spent over 2 months in Busan and we fell in Love. It is such a beautiful city with mountains hugging you. While the ocean and clear crystal waters washes your worries away. We stayed in a small town out of the city called Yeongdo-gu. It backed onto a beautiful mountain where we would get lost for hours.
There is so much on offer in Busan, we spent hours in Arte Museum for immersive art that felt meditative, and enjoyed long, unhurried days. Seoul offered vegan Indian feasts at Jyoti and high-tech conveniences that somehow never felt stressful. Jeju Island popped up in our plans too—think cute vegan cafés and black-sand beaches.

Jeju Island is so beautiful. We will have to go back there, actually we will have to go back to South Korea. It is such a cool country. I was a little worried about vegan food in South Korea. Though we always found something. Seoul was very easy, however Busan was a little more challenging. The place I was worried about the most was Jeju, but there was so much vegan food. Actually one of our favourite places was a little place in the back streets below someones house. It was amazing.
